Biography

Jasmine Scholz was born in January, 2003 to Justin and Sharon Scholz. Jasmine has lived in Wangaratta nearly all of her life, spending her younger years in Glenrowan.

Jasmine lived with Mum and Dad on a 28 acre property Mount Glenrowan, North East Victoria. The property had spectacular views of the Victorian Alpine area and mount Buffalo in particular and was 15km from Wangaratta.

When Jasmine was six, the family built a new home in Wangaratta. It was close to Appin Park Primary School which Jasmine attended.

As a child, Jasmine was adventurous and enthusiastic generally. She had a passion for animals and nature. She loved fantasy and mythological creatures (especially dragons).

During Jasmine’s early childhood years she participated in a range of activities including running, Girl Guides, and school based music and theatre. 27012012-007

As Jasmine aged, she started to take a greater interest in music and started to teach herself to play guitar. This eventually progressed into her Aunt Sonya and Uncle Dave buying a decent guitar for her 13th birthday. She took up singing lessons with Crystal Valley Music and more recently private tuition from Paris Zachariou.

Accompanying the family, Jasmine has visited France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Japan and Thailand. In each case she also cycles extensively, using bikes as transport. The family usually manages 1500km as a part of the “holiday”.

In December 2015 Jasmine attended the Melbourne Taylor Swift concert and has enjoyed following the progress of Taylor and other current popular musicians. She has gained inspiration from musicians of many different genres and styles. Many have shaped Jasmine’s musical style and allow her to look at her own music from multiple perspectives.

Jasmine will continue to write songs and music and play at more gigs.

In January 2017 Jasmine commenced the recording of an album with Northern Rivers Academy of Music.  Having been writing songs and developing the music for these over the preceding 12 months since 12 years of age it was considered appropriate to pull these together onto a first release album.

In December 2017 Jasmine’s first single from her album was released, titled “Dangerously Beautiful”.  It is available for purchase on Bandcamp.  The full debut album “In my shoes” will be released on 14 January 2018.

With her parents, Jasmine has developed the business name of “FlowerBox entertainment” and will continue to learn more about business while developing this brand.  The idea for the “flowerbox” concept came from Jasmine’s full name, which is a bunch of flowers. There’s a story behind all the names.  If you ask her, shefbe-logo-hi-res might just tell you what they are.
